Trunk-or-Treat and Boog's 40th Surprise Party!

>> Sunday, October 28, 2018

Halloween is quickly approaching and our Ward had our annual Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday night! :)

Our kids are growing up but Alayna and Eli still dressed up this year.

Alayna was Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games. We practiced that fancy braid all week!! LOL!

A couple of her friends...cute girls.

Eli and the young men and young women in the ward ran all the games and booths for the younger kids to play. His was the Donut Pinata.

They tied a string to whichever donut the kid's picked then they had to try to bite it off the string while they bobbed it up and down making it hilarious and difficult for the kids.

By the way, Eli went as a "Bread Winner". He wore a gold medal and carried around a (squishy foam) loaf of bread. We were REALLY surprised at how many people have never heard of that term!! Do they live in a cave???? LOL!

Jared photo-bombed our pic. :P

Jared and I had to leave about an hour into the party to run over to Boog's surprise 40th bday party. His birthday is actually on Halloween. I've always thought that was kinda fun!

Our family doesn't take pics together very often so I wanted to be sure to get a couple. Unfortunately, my sister wasn't able to make it.

It was a nice small gathering of friends and family. My "little" brother has joined the 40 Club. LOL! Happy birthday Noonie! :P

Happy Easter!!

>> Sunday, April 16, 2017

This year Easter has felt more meaningful to me. I have been looking forward to it for weeks. Alayna and I dyed some Easter eggs together. She's the only one who still enjoys this tradition. My kids are growing up. :(

Alayna made the cutest bunny egg and right as she picked it up so we could take a picture of it she accidentally dropped it. So sad... :(

Last year I discovered Hyacinth flowers. If you never have had the opportunity to smell these AMAZING flowers you need to run not walk to your nearest flower store and do it!!! They are everything Spring should be!!!

Alayna let me curl her hair and she looked like such a young lady! I had to snap a few pics! :)

We headed to church at our normal time. I know a lot of other faiths have a Sunrise Service for Easter but in the LDS faith we go to our Ward at our regularly scheduled time. For us that's at 11AM.

The kids were being especially sweet to each other this morning and I needed to remember them just as they were!

Singing a Hymn sweet! <3

The Primary children sung a special musical number called "The Miracle". I always love when the little children sing. They are so funny to watch especially the really little 4 year olds! They all sounded beautiful!

Sacrament meeting at church and Young Women's was especially beautiful and powerful to me as both were centered around Christ more than usual. I loved hearing again all about my Savior's Atonement and His love for me and each one of us. My heart was so touched and my soul renewed as message after message spoke about His Perfect Love. I'm so grateful for my Savior!

We had Easter over at Mom and Dad's house. Jared smoked a beef brisket for 16 hours and made a homemade BBQ sauce to go with it. The rest of the family brought sides for the potluck. The brisket turned out really good! Jared is getting pretty awesome at smoking different meats. :)

I saw a picture the other day for an Easter centerpiece that had my Mom and Dad written all over it! I sent it to Dad and he loved it! He said if I got the bunnies and grass he'd provide the Godzilla! My parents are HUGE Godzilla fans! Nothing says Easter quite like this!!!

After we were sufficiently stuffed, the kids had their Easter egg hunt!

I think Eli was being blinded by the sun! LOL!

Jared was taking pics of the kids for me. He loves the uber, super, close up! LOL!!

Walker didn't hunt for eggs this year. I know he's 16 now but still....makes me a little sad that he's too old for these traditions. :P

I couldn't remember the last time we took a family picture with my parents. I think we need to try to do this more often.

After taking the picture we realized that Robin's shirt was giving Mom a helmet and Boog was still wearing his sunglasses. :P I guess we need more practice.

This is a little better! :)

I look at the 5 of us and I think, do any of us even look alike??????

Jared and I were trying to take a few pics together too. I love how much he's laughing in that pic! :D

It was a really nice day celebrating the day of our Savior's Resurrection and spending time together with our family.

Happy Easter!!!

Christmas Eve & Day 2015

>> Sunday, December 27, 2015

Our tradition is to gather together at Grandma and Grandpa Morrison's for Christmas Eve. The kids usually perform a song or two on their instruments...typically the piano. :)

Alayna performed live and the boys decided to record theirs on a DVD. The keyboard is great but it doesn't sound quite like the real deal. :P

Alayna played "Angels We Have Heard On High".

She had a BIG finish!!! LOL!!!

Walker played "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing". It was quite a challenging arrangement but he did great! It sounds beautiful!!

Eli played "Fur Elise". He hasn't been taking piano like the other two but he'll get on and teach himself songs occasionally. He has a talent!

Trying to get the family to smile for pictures is a real challenge....this was the best they would give me.

I love this pic of Mom and Alayna. :)

Everyone was sufficiently spoiled and stuffed with lots of goodies. :) It's fun spending time with the family.

We all opened crackers at the end of the night. They are kinda fun! I love the super sweet crowns that come in them! LOL! Jared is such a ham! LOL!!

Alayna made a note for Santa and his reindeer and left some snacks...

I adore her practicality..."milk is in the fridge"!

We moved the Christmas tree to the living room this year. I'm torn about it but there just wasn't room in the front room anymore. :P

Christmas morning the kids rolled leisurely out of bed. They were up for a while before they even asked to open gifts....guess they are getting older. :P

We are a bunch of rag-a-muffins for sure!!!!

Walker got cash!

Jared loved his Twix! :P

Alayna and I got a gel manicure set. We are super excited for a spa night!

Alayna got Eli that cool hat.

I mean...what mom doesn't love that site?!? The boys chipped in and got her some My Little Pony headphones. Pretty awesome brothers!! :D

She also got a skateboard. It was her big gift this year from mom and dad.

Jared got a new Nexus 6p phone. He's a little thrilled. :)

Sammy wasn't forgotten this year. He got a few new toys and some treats....We've never seen him so happy! It was pretty adorable.

Santa was good to us this year!! We feel blessed to be able to have each other and be able to celebrate in this way. Merry Christmas!!!
