Holes Come Out of Nowhere!

>> Friday, January 19, 2018

I got a text from Alayna yesterday afternoon saying her ankle was hurting worse. On Tues she was running on the fields and she twisted her foot pretty bad.
School playgrounds are dangerous. Holes come out of nowhere!

We got it x-rayed and everything looks good...but it is sprained. We just seem to have a lot of sprained ankles around here!
She'll need to be on crutches for a few days and wear the special ankle wrap they gave her. Little worried about the fact volleyball starts on Monday. Hopefully she'll heal quickly!!!

Alayna joined Run Club at school and has totaled 20 miles so far! She received a medal and certificate. Such a great way to help the kids stay active and healthy! She loves running! ðŸ…🏃‍♀️ #shedoesntgetitfromus#wedontrununlessbeingchased #proudofourgirl

Eli's Dungeons & Dragons Project

>> Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Over Christmas break Eli started a pretty big project. He and his friends game about once a week and he DM's for them. They've been using dry erase board maps and things to mark their story lines as they play. Eli saw this YouTuber who works in construction and built his own maps/models with things from the hardware store. He thought that was epic and decided he wanted to make them too!

He worked on these for hours and hours and hours! Carving, painting, flocking, building, coating, gluing, spraying, sanding, etc. It was no small feat! We are all in awe of how awesome it turned out!!!

I love how Eli is a doer. He gets an idea and runs with it. He wants to learn how to solve a rubics cube...done. He wants to learn to play the guitar...done. He wants to build a super sweet map for gaming...done!!! So impressed with him..and his crafting skills! Watch out Martha Sterwart! Haha!

Happy New Year!!!!!

A brisk 47 degrees this year!

Gettin' their game face on!

Alayna always psychs Jared out and makes him go first! LOL!

Looks like it hurts! LOL!

Walker the towel boy and Eli the camera man.

Feeling invigorated and superhuman! LOL!

Brave girl!!!!

She was really nervous to go in this year. She braved it like a champ....but she couldn't leap into that towel fast enough!!!! Hahahaha!!!!

Warm hugs all around!

Love my people and how crazy they are!

Like Daddy, like Daughter!!! Feeling like Super Girl!

Traditions like this will never be forgotten!

Eli decided to ring in the new year in a different way! While everyone was posting all their new healthy eating habits and hiking trips to start out the year...Eli decided to celebrate by eating a GIANT piece of chocolate cake! Hahaha!!! He cracks me up!

Alayna's 11th Birthday!!

>> Sunday, December 31, 2017

Time keeps slipping through my fingers. Our "baby" turned 11 years old! This month has been nuts with sickness. Luckily we went to lunch the day before her bday and had a little celebration at Olive Garden.

Because the next day, and the whole week following, she ended up like this....

Sick :(
The flu hit hard and was relentless!

We did manage to keep our tradition of watching White Christmas on her birthday.

We had to postpone her friend party until the 30th. She had a small group come over for a movie night. She chose Dead Men Tell No Tales. She loves that movie. They jumped on the tramp, ate way too much candy, Jared grilled some hot dogs and they had a blast!

The downside was that evening the flu hit me hard and fast and I had to leave Jared to run everything on his own. :( He was great though and the kids I'm sure didn't even notice I was missing. LOL!

Happy 11th bday sweetheart!

New Year's Eve!

I was still sick as dog for New Years. But I didn't want to spoil everyone's fun. I locked myself away in my bedroom and Eli invited his friends over and they partied all night.

They are fun group of kids! :)

Family Temple Day- December!

Family Temple Day! ðŸ’’

Our New Year's resolution as a family was to go to the Temple every month in 2017. It hasn't been easy juggling everyone's schedules but we did it!!! ðŸŽˆðŸŽ‰

It has been such a blessing to our family. ❤️

Today we talked about setting worthwhile goals for the coming year. We all agreed to continue this one next year! We have loved it! We also discussed personal goals we each can work towards. Especially, inviting our Heavenly Father in to our goals and allowing Him to be apart of the process to help us achieve them and to grow closer to Him.

As Walker reminded us yesterday, he's 1/2 way through his Sr. year. He will be making so many decisions and setting goals to help him be better prepared.

I'm so grateful for my sweet little family. I'm incredibly blessed to be a wife and mother. My dream came true! ❤️❤️ Happy New Year from the Kitch's! ðŸŽ‰ðŸŽŠ
