Desert Botanical Garden

Alayna and her class went on a fieldtrip to the Desert Botanical Garden yesterday, and I was lucky enough to go and be a chaperone. I feel very blessed that I am able to go with my kids on their school trips. :)

Doesn't this face look happy!?! :) She was so excited to see and learn more about the desert plants and animals! Mrs. Smith is such an amazing teacher and the entire class already knew SO much about the different cacti, trees, plants and animals. I was impressed!

We also had an extra special treat at the Garden. The Chihuly Exibit was still going on and we were able to see some the of the beautiful works of art there. Here is a little blurb from the Exibit and the Artist:

These were just a small sampling of the art there. It was so neat to see!

Alayna and her group had a fun time with our guide. She was the sweetest elderly lady who really got into her role playing with the kids! They just ate it up!! :)

We saw a cute little woodpecker...look close and you can see him in the cactus. :)

It was a lot of fun being able to tag along with Alayna and her class. I just love my sweet girl to pieces! :)

The desert really is a beautiful place to live. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else but here. It's home.....
