She's a Big Girl Now!

>> Saturday, November 21, 2009

It's tradition in our family that when you have gone a full week accident free when learning to be potty trained, you get to go to Build-a-Bear and pick a special pal.

Alayna has done a great job, and today it was her turn to pick a new friend to take home!! :)

After choosing her Bunny Rabbit, everyone helped giver her a bath!

Alayna named her Sally. Welcome to the family!!!! :D

We are so proud of you sweet girl...You're a BIG GIRL now!!! :)

Just kids!

Sixteen years ago today I started dating my husband, father of my children, and best friend. He was a Senior and I was a Junior at Gilbert High School. We had met on a band trip on the bus....It was sooo romantic. :P

My best friend Jill and I were getting on one of the buses getting ready to go to State. (I believe...this was a long time ago.. :P ) We were in line for one bus but something happened and we ended up getting on a different one instead. Once we found our seats I saw him. :) He was goofing around with his buddies and of course there were several girls around vying for his attention.

His wallet was getting passed around with a picture of him and his girlfriend from one of the school dances. It came across my way and of course I had to take a look. :) I have to admit I was a bit jealous...Darn!! He's taken!!!

His wallet continued to make it's rounds and I went to sit down and he was sitting across the isle from me. His feet were up against the window and his head was laying at the edge of the bench towards the isle. I looked over and said, "I can see up your nose." (It was magic!LOL!) He replied, "Really? Do you see anything up there??" (As he flairs his nostrils.)

From that day I knew I had to catch him! :P (What can I say, I'm an odd girl...hahahaha!) We flirted and he'd show up to my dance practices after school and not too long after he took me on our first date. (Yes he was still dating his girlfriend...Jared was a "Play-a"!!! LOL!!) He took me to Taco Bell and then Freestone Park with a group of friends. While we were there he told me that he had feelings for me. And I of course was beside myself and giddy with excitement. He took me home and gave me a little kiss before I went inside the house.

The next day was Thanksgiving. He called me and we chatted for a couple of hours..cuz that's what teenagers do...LOL. It was time for his family to eat, but before we got off the phone he told me he had broken up with his girlfriend. He then said in an adorably nervous voice, "Since everyone thinks it anyway.....will you be my girlfriend?"

I of course said,"YES!"

....and here we are 16 years later, 3 kids, 1 dog and still just as much in love as we were then.

I love you babe! :)

Love you Eli!

This morning I woke up to my boys carrying in a cookie sheet with a wonderful bowl of Raisin Bran and a giant glass of milk! :)

Eli told me "I was thinking it was like a Get Well Card!!" (big grin :D )....I've been sick all week.

My heart is full today of gratitude for my son who thought of his Momma this morning. What a great young man he's turning out to be. He's always thinking of others...

I love you Eli!! :)

Mystery Admirer

>> Monday, November 9, 2009

I got home from church yesterday and found we have a "Mystery Admirer"!! LOL! :P

On our front porch was this....

We don't know who left this for us.... but we have a few suspicions... :)

I think they may be concerned with us staying on the straight and narrow path and are telling us to Choose The Right. :) hahahaha!!

Our biggest concern is that if we are caught with that traffic sign we will be fined $700.00 by ADOT. We will call today to have them come and pick it up.

It's nice to know though that "someone" is thinking of us! LOL!! :)

I started potty training Alayna on Monday. I've been putting it off cuz let's face it..who likes potty training?? NOT me!!

Jared has been very anxious to get this phase completed. He hates changing diapers but I don't see the big deal. They are soooo convenient and you are free to do all the errands, shopping, lunch dates, classes, field trips you need to do all day long! :) But...she will be 3 in about 2 months and he's right, it's time...

The boys were super easy. They were done in 3 days!! But you little Rose Bud is very much her own person, and does things when "she" wants to. Thankfully however, She didn't really fight me on the issue of potty training. She LOVES clothes and so the princess undies were a BIG hit!! Such a girly girl this one is! :D So that part was easy...

She did take a bit longer than the boys. Today is day 5 but I think she's "FINALLY" got it! She's been accident free all day. Even with a trip to the grocery store. I'm so proud of her and I'm glad to be done with the commando potty training session. I'm not sure how much more time I could spend looking at a toilet..LOL!!!

Good job sweet cheeks...(pun intended!!! LOL!!)
