Belt Pouches

Howdy Partners!

I finally finished the belt pouches I was working on for Jared's family reunion that's being held in Texas this year. I had so many great ideas for the bags but alas, money became a factor, and I had to scale my grand ideas down. :P

I think they turned out really cute...actually cuter than I expected. I hope you think so too! :D

We'll see y'all in June!

Digital Baby!

>> Monday, May 18, 2009

So...I've been working during nap times and late nights to get all of our old school pictures scanned into the computer so that we could have them digitally on file. Pictures are soooo much easier to find when they are organized. When I was putting my Mom's DVD together it was difficult to locate all the pics I had because they were everywhere! I unfortunately came across a few I wished I would have known about cuz they were awesome..but I can't beat myself up over it now. ..sigh. :(

But now we are all digital BABY!! And it feels OH SO GOOD! I have everything in folders by year, date, event, etc. I L-O-V-E ..LOVE it!

I highly recommend it for everyone. It does take time. If you don't have time, their are places that will do it for you. I'm not sure how much that would run you though. Just take it nice and slow and you will get it done. I have O.C.D. and therefore was able to do it in about a week. Like I said, you don't have to be neurotic like me..just take it little by little and you too can enter the digital age! :P

Now all I have left is to do, is scan in the kids' scrapbooks!! I think I'll take a small break before I adventure into those though! :D

Kandid Memories

>> Saturday, May 16, 2009

Jared and I use to make Memory DVD's as a side business a few years back. Unfortunately, between our "real" jobs and everything in between, it fell to the wayside.

However, for Mother's Day I was trying to think of what to get for my Mom, and the idea hit me to make her her own Memory DVD. It's strange to think all this time has gone by and I've never made her one.

I thought of the idea for doing this for her late. I made it in 2 days and I wish I would have had more time to polish it...but I think it turned out well. She cried, I cried..I think that's about all you can ask right? :P

Let me warn you, blogger doesn't let me upload this in very high quality. It really does look better than this, but I thought I'd share it anyway! :P

I wanted to share a bit of my Mother's Day with all of you. I don't have any pictures really to go along with this little story because I was still half asleep when it happened and as much as I would like to think I have my camera with me at all times to capture great moments was just too early!

Use those great imaginations now.....

I'm laying in bed and I hear from the kitchen the boys up bright and early. I'm not ready to get up so I try to ignore the noise but know it's probably pointless, but the bed is too cozy so I try anyway.

Then I hear my bedroom door open and I hear Walker (8) telling Eli (6) in a whispery voice, "You go...just wake her do it."

Now in my half asleep mind I'm thinking, "Are they actually waking me up to ask me to play video games!!???!!! GRRR!" I tried my best to ignore them but then the inevitable of course happens.

Eli comes up to me, pats me on the shoulder and says, "Mom....Mom...Mom."
I "reluctantly" open my eyes and what did I see? I saw Walker carrying a cookie try, very unsteadily, with a bowl of Frosted Flakes, a giant glass of strawberry milk, and a Mother's Day card; and they say in unison, "Happy Mother's Day!!!"

(Note: I had completely forgotten it was Mother's Day)

My first reaction was, did Jared help them? I turned over to see Jared was still asleep next to me! I looked at the boys who had THE BIGGEST smiles you ever did see on two adorably cute kids with what they had done for their dear old Mom. :)

I sat up in bed, took the tray quickly..cuz Walker was struggling not to drop and or spill it..and became so overwhelmed with pride and joy over my boys!!

No one had helped them, they did it all on their own accord. I felt so appreciated and loved. I have the greatest kids EVER!!!

Here is the sweet little card

All I have to say is....any girl lucky enough to catch one of my the LUCKIEST girl in the world!!! :)

Little Time Saver

>> Saturday, May 2, 2009

When I was working full-time (eons ago) :) I use to do freezer meals. I don't know how many of you are familiar with freezer meals but they ROCK!

I would take one Saturday every month and cook all day long, enough meals for the month, and then froze them. Sometimes it wouldn't even be an entire meal. It could just be taco meat already browned and seasoned, so all I have to do is heat it up and throw it in some shells with some toppings. It made for a long day in the kitchen, but it was so worth it when I'd come home from working hard and I didn't have to "think" about what to make for dinner.

It saved us a lot of money by not going out to eat because I was too tired to make something. Or if someone in the ward was sick or had just had a baby, and I needed to bring a meal, I didn't have to scramble to put something together!

(Turkey Enchiladas!!MMMMM!!!)

I haven't done freezer meals in a while..mostly because the thought of an entire day in the kitchen doesn't appeal to me. It seems like lately we've been eating out a lot because let's face it..I'm not working outside the home anymore, but my job is certainly FULL TIME! :P It's so easy to just pick up a pizza, tacos, or whatever...but it adds up quick when you have 5 hungry mouths to feed!! So this week I've started just making "more" of what I'm already cooking for dinner. We eat one pan and I put the other pan (well covered, with what it is, what temp. to cook it on, etc.) in the freezer. You'd be amazed at how fast my freezer has filled up in just one week.

(Just a small sampling of what's in there right now)

I know Sunday after church I will be pulling out something from my "Treasure Box"! :P
